One of the more thoughtful takes I've seen around the Meta ecosystem lately. Your posts consistently show a systems-level understanding of Meta rather than surface-level dashboard thinking, and that's pretty rare.
Video Reach Quadrant
A Claude skill that turns a Meta Ads Manager CSV export into a single decision chart. Plots each video ad on cost per 1,000 people reached vs ThruPlay rate (cheap-reach vs holding-attention), sizes bubbles by spend, colors by prospecting vs retargeting, and splits every ad into one of four honest quadrants: SCALE, FIX THE HOOK, NICHE, or CUT.
- 01The two axes that actually matter for prospecting video: cost per 1,000 people reached (not per impression) and ThruPlay rate. CTR is a trap here (it rewards the tiny slice already ready to act).
- 02Four honest quadrants, each with a specific next action. SCALE: cheap reach + strong hook, give it budget. FIX THE HOOK: cheap reach, weak retention, recut the first 3 seconds. NICHE: engaging but pricey, keep and don't force scale. CUT / REALLOCATE: pricey and weak.
- 03Bubbles sized by spend, so the money shot is instant: small bubbles in the SCALE corner are proven winners you're barely funding.
- 04Auto-splits prospecting from retargeting from campaign / ad-set names (with keyword tiers, so 'Lookalike of Purchasers' correctly reads as cold prospecting). Fixable with overrides when the account uses different vocabulary.
- 05Inspect-first workflow. The script runs a detection pass and shows you which columns mapped where, the TOF/BOF split, and a per-ad table BEFORE it draws anything. You confirm, then it renders.
- 06Ships with a synthetic 16-ad sample Meta export (with noise columns like CTR that should be ignored) so you can prove out the flow before pointing it at real data.
What operators are saying
No fluff, no flattery, but your content is really great, amazing. I recently read a couple of your blogs and it blew my mind.
Super helpful, thanks for sharing this. The 1 ad per ~$3k framing really clicked. This gives me a clearer way to help diagnose what's ads.
Lots of alpha in your newsletter. I really enjoy your content on LinkedIn. Keep up the good work.
I read some of your posts and you seem to have a very well rounded understanding of how to monitor and maintain profitability of a Meta account.
Came across your substack and love the content.
